Thanks so much to you and the Foundation team for today. Such a great festival for the girls, and the kit… just dreamy. Thank you Thank you Thank you. The girls will look great playing at the London Youth Games next year!
The SWITCH coaching has engaged with pupils by providing a fun and challenging environment where the girls have excelled and developed their rugby skills, whether they’ve been new to the game or more experienced. The highlight for the girls was attending one of the SWITCH festivals at the Stoop, which was a highly organised event and brilliantly showcased the enjoyment of rugby for the girls
Thank you Harlequins Foundation for all that you have done this year at Thamesmead.
The Harlequins Foundation has been a great rugby support system not only for us teachers but also the girls playing rugby.
All of the coaches come with fresh fun ideas to get the girls having fun while also developing their rugby skills along the way. Hinchley wood have always been keen to attend Harlequins Switch festivals because they never fail put a smile on the girls faces as well as demonstrating HUGE improvements from when they first started playing rugby in October.
Thank you Harlequins for such a great day for the girls. I especially liked that the tournament was focused on enjoying the game and it’s values rather than winning!
It was brilliant to have so many young people taking part and popping into our Digital hub to try out the latest technology including Virtual Reality and Lego Education. Our Digital School is open every Friday at The Stoop for local schools and community groups to book sessions.
The switch programme and extra curricula training sessions has been absolutely fantastic across Year 7-11. To have the opportunity to have an enthusiastic coach come into school to help train the rugby team has been a great support for staff and students. The girls have really appreciated the work Rob has done to develop their skills at after school rugby club. The progress they have made this season has been really rewarding for them. There has been a brilliant uptake from girls who haven’t played rugby before and now absolutely love it. This has had a great impact on their empowerment and has transferred across to other sports as well. The environment at the Switch events has been really positive and supportive of every player. It is clear to see from a teachers prospective that the girls have grown in self-confidence and built great relationships with the rugby coaches.
